Wacom Community Website
Project: Launch a community website that would give Wacom a place to engage with and create value for users of Wacom products.
Challenge: Cement Wacom as the undisputed leader in the art tablet market, differentiating them from the competition. Create a place for product users to share tips and tricks using Wacom products and 3rd party software.
Solution: The interactive nature of the community site created potential for relationships between Wacom and their customers that the competition could not duplicate, while adding value for Wacom product users. The site was presented as sort of "gift" to customers, letting them show off their work done with Wacom products.
User generated content was central, brought to the forefront of the site by using lighter elements for the overall design. Info on each artist was available, as well as a marketing and critique system for feedback. A 3-column layout allows for a large amount of information to be easily digestible, while keeping the focus on the middle column of artist work.
